Answers to common questions about the Kakamit app, gut health, gas symptoms, and privacy.
DGBS is Kakamit's core metric for tracking gas symptoms. It's a simple 1–5 scale to rate how much gas and bloating bothered you in the past 24 hours: 1 = Not bothersome at all, 5 = Extremely bothersome.
Complete privacy is Kakamit's core principle. All data is stored exclusively on your own device in the browser's IndexedDB database. No data is sent to external servers, the cloud, or third parties. Kakamit does not collect any analytics (no Google Analytics or other tracking tools). The app does not track its users in any way.
The Bristol Stool Form Scale is a medical tool that classifies stool shape and consistency into seven types. Types 3 and 4 are ideal and indicate a well-functioning gut.
A healthy adult normally passes gas about 10–25 times per day. If gas causes you significant discomfort or pain, DGBS tracking helps you understand the regularity of your symptoms.
The most common triggers are certain carbohydrates (FODMAPs), dairy products, beans, onions, cabbage, and mental stress.
Diet is the single most important factor in gut health. The good news is that dietary changes often show effects on gut function quickly, within just 1–3 days.
It is a scientifically researched treatment for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms. The diet temporarily reduces certain poorly absorbed carbohydrates to calm the gut.
You'll get the best and clearest results by making it a daily routine to log at least your Bristol stool type and DGBS score for gas levels.

The name is a playful Finnish pun combining 'kakka' (poop) and 'mittaus' (measurement). With it, we want to remove unnecessary seriousness, taboos, and shame around gut function – digestive issues are something we all share!
Kakamit is not a medical device and does not replace diagnosis or treatment by a healthcare professional. This page provides general information to support gut health tracking.
